By invitation only.
I think that many oldsters who have put our AA “booze cure” to severe but successful tests still find they often lack emotional sobriety. Perhaps they will be the spearhead for the next major development in AA—the development of much more real maturity and balance (which is to say, humility) in our relations with ourselves, with our fellows, and with God. Who Would Be Interested
You are an alcoholic. You have been sober and coming to AA for some time now. But your Program may feel that it is lacking. It has been a long time since you felt challenged in the Rooms. There is a sense of ennui about your sobriety. You have lost track of spiritual growth in your life. You have, at least once, said to yourself during a share at a meeting, “OMG he is going on forever.”
Or you just feel a need to grow, to mature spiritually. But what do you do, what actions do you take to achieve this goal? What have others done?
And you want to address this issue with others in the Program. Or you have some experience with this and would like to share your story.
Format and Content
Mike C and Andy C will lead the conversation in two morning sessions that will focus on spiritual growth in the Program. Drawing on their own personal stories they will share their experience, strength and hope regarding spiritual growth in the Program with a session on “Why Spiritual Growth Stalls or Stagnates” and then “Some Solutions and Actions to Resume Spiritual Growth.”
Over lunch, Andy C will give a short talk on Manageability and Unmanageability of Life.
After lunch, we will focus on a discussion of actions that can be taken to solve the problem and vault ourselves into the 4th Dimension of Life that Bill talked about.
